I then pursued a degree in Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge, achieving a BA 2.1 with honours in 2005.
I started the pursuit of my teaching career in 2005 at the University of Oxford, completing my PGCE in 2006. I was awarded QTS in 2006 and completed my induction in 2007.
In 2009 I was awarded an MA 2.1 with honours from the University of Cambridge.

I started life in the UK in Cambridgeshire and this was where I spent my formative years and early 20s.
Phase 1 - My first teaching experience was in the Oxford where I studied by PGCE n 2005 before teaching full time in the UK between 2006 and 2012 where I focused on Edtech, Middle management as well as leading Maths and Science enrichment activities.
Phase 2 - My international journey began in Hong Kong in 2012 where I focused on STE(A)M related extracurricular activities and learning how to teach the IB way before coming back to the UK temporarily for professional development and to set up my educational business followed by working as an Maths and Science intervention teacher.
Phase 3 - Thus begins a rocky road, I worked briefly in Qatar then back in the UK, I then resumed my IB journey working in Switzerland and Thailand as a head of department (during the COVID pandemic) before returning to the UK to teach mostly Mathematics and take up boarding responsibilities, before returning to Asia to work in China in a couple of schools. I have left out the short stints for brevity.
Phase 4 - I will take up the position of IBDP Coordinator at a prestigious school in Africa. I am keeping the exact school and country vague out of privacy concerns.
I love narrative structure, it helps to keep me grounds so I can fly - Marvel Film buff - Its just a phase, but I won't grow out of it.

Personally I have been very unlucky in love! Having met my wife to be in Hong Kong and separated from her soon after leaving Hong Kong (hence my short stint in Qatar) and faced similar relationship challenges in Thailand and then again in China I have been left with deep scars and wounds from the experience, traumatic chasms have opened up and to recover I fill them with my art. Starting in early 2025, the year of the snake I have shed my skin and I am embarking on an art career - audio, visual and prose.

Language learning has always fascinated me and indeed it along with STEM education is the subject of my educational research. Working in international schools means that it is imperative that we understand this aspect of a child's development.
I started learning French aged 11 and German aged 15, I lived in the French speaking part of Switzerland for a year where I was able to develop that language to an elementary level.
I lived in Hong Kong and was married to a Cantonese speaker, hence why I learnt Cantonese to a limited extent. Spanish was learnt in my late teens and early twenties when I visited the peninsula regularly and lived there for a short time.
I lived and worked in Thailand for a year and developed some knowledge of the language.
Please contact me for tutoring or educational teaching materials: mrforsterstem@gmail.com or check out my TES shop.
In my 18 year career I have taught a broad range of subjects and syllabuses both in and out of the classroom.
I am a bit of a polymath or a jack of all trades.
My primary experience has been the teaching of Science at GCSE level and in the IB Middle Years Programme and the teaching of Physics at A-Level and in the IB Diploma Programme.
I have also taught extensively the IB Diploma Programme in Chemistry and IB Theory of Knowledge.
Throughout my career I have taught and/or tutored Maths extensively from KS3 to A-level as well as teaching some MYP and IBDP Maths.
More recently I have started to teach practical Physical Education! I have also taught GCSE Astronomy.
Subjects in italics indicates that i have only tutored or been a temporary cover teacher for this subject but I am capable of teaching it.
